On page e51, in Chart 2-20, the gray bar (denoting men) in column D has been changed from “30” to “30+.” In the table below the graph, the entry for Diabetes in column D has been changed from “Tes” to “Yes.”On page e102, in the first column, under the heading “Mortality,” the first bullet read, “The 2005 overall total-mention death rate for HF was 52.3. Total-mention death rates were 62.1 for white males, 81.9 for black males, 43.2 for white females, and 58.7 for black females (NCHS, NHLBI).” It has been updated to read, “The 2005 overall total-mention death rate for HF was 94.3. Total-mention death rates were 108.7 for white males, 112.4 for black males, 85.4 for white females, and 91.0 for black females (NCHS, NHLBI).”On page e103, in Table 8.1, the heading for the fourth column read, “Mortality (Total Mentions), 2004, All Ages*.” It has been updated to read, “Mortality (Total Mentions), 2005, All Ages*.”On page e109, in the first column, under the heading “Other Diseases of Arteries,” the number for “Total-mention mortality” was 432 484. It has been updated to read, 32 484.On page e132, in the second column, the first complete bulleted item, reference 2 has been added at the end.On page e133, in the first column, the first bullet under the “Adults” heading read, “One and a half million new cases of DM were diagnosed in people ≥20 years of age in 2005.5” It has been updated to read, “Based on data from the 2007 National Diabetes Fact Sheet of the CDC, about 1.6 million new cases of diabetes were diagnosed in people ≥20 years of age in 2007.2”On page e170, in Table 19.2, the footnote with 2 daggers (††) read, “…open-heart procedures in 2005.” It has been updated to read, “…open-heart procedures in 2006.”These corrections have been made to the current online version of the article, which is available at http://circ.ahajournals.org/cgi/reprint/119/2/e21.
