Abstract

Dear History Workshop-Two readers have pointed out an ambiguity in a crucial sentence at the start of my essay ‘The Workers' Opposition in Nazi Germany’, HWJ no 11. p.120. The sentence reads: the workers'opposition 'posed a massive, but not a fundamental, principled challenge to the regime’. To make the intended sense absolutely clear, the sentence ought to read: the workers' opposition ‘posed a massive, yet neither fundamental not principled challenge to the regime’. My apologies for creating uncertainty on this important point.
