Abstract

The type locality of the Central Asian solpugid Gylippus rickmersi Kraepelin, 1899 (currently a junior synonym of Gylippus (Anoplogylippus) ferganensis Birula, 1893), is herein finally clarified. Based upon a reliable external source, i.e., detailed data published by the collector of the holotype, it is found to be not Bukhara city in southern Uzbekistan (as traditionally assumed since the original description), but actually Baljuvon town in western Tajikistan.

Highlights

  • The Central Asian solpugid Gylippus rickmersi Kraepelin, 1899 was regarded as a junior synonym of Gylippus (Anoplogylippus) ferganensis Birula, 1893 by Birula (1907)
