Abstract

Numerous studies have confirmed the skewness of Halstead's Software Science Length Estimator (Beser, 1983; Gonzales, 1990). The Length estimator consistently underestimates the size of `small' programs (program size 4000 tokens). This paper verifies and corrects the Halstead Length Estimator skewness for a large collection of `C' programs of varying sizes.
