Abstract

Abstract The inhibitors of a trypsin-kallikrein system and high calorie parenteral feeding were successfully used for correcting protein metabolism in 267 patients, both in acute and later periods of burn disease. With deficiency of the insulin apparatus the effective treatment was insulin therapy with consideration of the insulin tolerance test. Complex treatment of burn disease may include either of these methods or both.
