Abstract

Post-traumatic epicanthal folds can develop at medial and lateral canthal areas. The resultant problems are facial asymmetry and decrease of visual field. There were ten patients with medial or lateral post-traumatic epicanthal folds and they were treated by double opposing Z-plasty combining Y-to-V advancement flap. All the flaps survived and the results in function and cosmesis were satisfactory with the exception of one. The five-flap method is an easier way to correct medial or lateral epicanthus with positive results.
