Abstract

In order to predict the performance of a high-staggered low-solidity tandem-cascade diffuser of a centrifugal blower, the lift-correction factors due to the mutual interaction between the two cascades were numerically solved assuming inviscid flow. A tandem cascade diffuser was tested with two different circumferential relative positions and it was shown that the performance was wall predicted demonstrating the significant influence of the relative position on the lift coefficient. The blade circulation of each was also evaluted from the measured pressure distribution along the blade surface and good agreement with the prediction was demonstrated.
