Abstract

Various techniques have been used to correct constricted ears. The usual corrective otoplasty techniques are inadequate in severe cases which require additional skin. The authors describe a chondrocutaneous postauricular flap for reconstruction of the triangular defect that appears after the repositioning of the ear to its anatomical position in severe congenital constricted ear deformities. The cartilage attached to the post-auricular flap provides a better form and stability to the reconstructed ear. Seven constricted ears have been corrected using this flap with satisfactory results.
