Abstract

Summary Angular limb deformities may result in permanent impairment of the foal, if not corrected early. Due to the simplicity of the approach and the effectiveness of hemicircumferential transection and periosteal stripping, the general practitioner can benefit from this technique. In most cases where this procedure is applicable, correction of the angular limb deformity is achieved. Overcorrection does not appear to be a problem.
