Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a corporate commitment to contribute to sustainable development through balancing three factors, namely economics, society and environment, in which social assistance and charity are a very important component in CSR. Performing good CSR will bring benefits to both businesses and the society. In the current period, as the Covid-2019 pandemic is arising, busisnesses in Vietnam have been positively performing CSR through many measures and finding ways to perfoming their CSR; participating in manufacturing equipment, machines and electronic softwares; supporting money and medical equipment to join the society in the fight against the pandemic. These essential activities have contributed to helping the society and people reduce risks, ensuring social wealthfare and human security for the sustainable development goal. The article clarifies the current situation of CSR performance in Vietnam during the COVID-19 pandemic, gives some comments and evaluations, and suggests policy implications to improve CSR performance in a difficult context.
