Abstract

The purpose of this exploratory study was to investigate different factors associated to the socially responsible processes of principal family business in Chile. The research was grounded on the Sustainable Family Business Theory and based in seven factors defined by The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), a CEO-led, global association of some 200 companies dealing exclusively with business and sustainable development. The results of this study improve the understanding of the relationship between business and Social Responsibility in Chile. We also identified some implications for future research and investment in family responsibility is being discussed.
