Abstract

Aim of the present study was to visualize coronary sinus (CS) by real time 3-dimensional echocardiography (RT3DE) and to compare CS quantitative data with those obtained by multislice cardiac tomography (MSCT). 34 consecutive patients (20 normal subjects and 14 patients with heart failure (HF) undergoing MSCT for clinical indication were also submitted within few hours RT3DE. CS diameters and length were assessed. Starting from ostium, additional measurements were taken in 1-cm apart as far as the CS was visualized by RT3DE.
