Abstract

This paper examines (1) the variations of disease patterns across the world, (2) considers the incidence of coronary heart disease in India and England and between the indigenous white population and the Asians (originating from the Indian subcontinent, (3) explores the prevalent attitudes, beliefs and values of Indians to coronary heart disease, (4) considers the relationship of personality factors to coronary heart disease, and (5) examines the cultural differences in responses to coronary rehabilitation programmes used in England.
