Abstract

Several mechanisms by which solar flares are formed are considered by different authors. The boundary conditions are usually specified artificially, as is required for the development of the proposed mechanism. The creation of the conditions during the evolution of an actual active region is not considered in such an approach. No flare mechanism hypotheses are used in the performed MHD modeling. The flare mechanism is found from the numerical MHD modeling, when all conditions are specified based on the observations. It has been demonstrated that the flare energy is accumulated in the current sheet as a result of disturbance focusing in the vicinity of the X-type singular line. For the first time, it has been shown that the calculated current sheet position coincides with the position of the flare thermal X-ray source.
