Abstract

A 14-day-old girl presented with bilateral opaque corneas and raised intraocular pressure (Fig A). Ultrasound biomicroscopy showed a well-defined central defect in the Descemet membrane and posterior corneal stroma (Fig B, arrows), with cystic intrastromal fluid clefts (Fig B, stars). Her diagnosis was Peters anomaly with glaucoma, and she underwent bilateral combined trabeculotomy with trabeculectomy. After 4 months follow-up, there was a significant improvement in peripheral cornea clarity, with persistent central corneal opacity (Fig C).
