Abstract
Dependence of dry matter yields on water availability is an important factor in crop production. In this article data from the literature are used to confirm the linear relationship between grain and silage response to irrigation for corn (Zea mays L.). Analysis of variance showed no significant difference between conventional and no-tillage treatments. About 50% of plant dry matter occurred in the grain, independent of irrigation level, which agrees with previous results. A procedure for calibration of the linear model is illustrated. *Florida Agricultural Experiment Station Journal Series No. R-08324.
