Abstract

The lowest order core polarization contribution to the nuclear response function, which is seen in the quasi-elastic electron scattering, is calculated in nuclear matter, using a finite range effective interaction with a tensor component. The relationship of our calculation with a sum rule approach is discussed. At this stage the fit with available experimental data is found not to be improved.
