Abstract

This paper contributes to the study of the core of ideals in Noetherian rings. We use techniques and objects from multiplicative ideal theory to develop explicit formulas for the core in various classes of one-dimensional Noetherian domains. All results are illustrated with original examples, where we explicitly compute the core.
