Abstract

Objectives: Studies have investigated body composition measurements and nutritional status markers as predictors of outcomes in cancer patients. Hypoalbuminemia is associated with worse survival outcomes in women with ovarian cancer. Pre-treatment core muscle size has been associated with prognosis in several cancers. We sought to determine if change in core muscle size, albumin and visceral fat, over the course of primary treatment for ovarian cancer, would identify a cohort at risk for worse prognosis.
