Abstract
Purpose – This paper aims to explore the author ' s own personal involvement with library finance. Design/methodology/approach – This is a viewpoint piece. Findings – This piece explores the idea of core memories in relation to library finance. Originality/value – This is an autobiographical piece inspired by Pixar ' s 2015 film Inside Out.
