Abstract

Accurately estimating the core power losses under the trapezoidal induction waveform, and analyzing its variation with the duty cycle, are essential for the elaborate design of high-frequency transformers used in dual-active-bridge (DAB) dc-dc converters. In this paper, core power losses under trapezoidal induction waveform are theoretically predicted by considering the specific role of hysteresis, classical and excess loss components. The fixed coefficients for a wide frequency spectrum up to 10kHz of validity for the prediction of the hysteresis, classical and excess loss components are calculated by using a polynomial regression analysis. The results are confirmed through measurement.
