Abstract

The nuclear properties of low-lying levels of 127I are discussed in terms of a core-excitation model. The core and particle parameters are determined by a simultaneous fitting of the available experimental data into a least-square program. Compared with the predictions of Kisslinger and Sorensen, the calculated results are seen to yield better agreement with the measured E2 transition rates.
