Abstract

Adding magnetic core can improve the performance of the wireless power transfer system of dual-use machine. The design objective of this paper is to weigh the coupling coefficient and the amount of ferrite. First, four existing magnetic core structures are compared and analyzed. Second, a new magnetic core structure liked "U" is proposed and optimized. Then the new U-shaped structure is compared with two typical magnetic core structures from the coupling coefficient, ferrite amount and misalignment tolerance. Finally, the experimental results show that, compared with the existing core structures, the U-shaped structure proposed in this paper can obtain higher coupling coefficient and misalignment tolerance while minimizing the ferrite amount.
