Abstract

The correct name for the New Zealand plant, kanono (Rubiaceae), is Coprosma autumnalis Colenso, which name is lectotypified here. A drawing made of the species by John Buchanan in the late 1860s is reproduced. The phenology of the plant, marked in the specific epithet, is examined.
