Abstract
Copper(II) complexes of general composition Cu(L)X 2 [where L = 3,9-diethyl-2,10-dimethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradeca1,3,8,10-tetraene (DSLB); 2,9-diethyl-2,10-dimethyl-1,4,7,10-tetraaza-5,6:11,12-dibenzotricyclo[2,4,4]dodeca-1,3,7,9-tetraene (DSLC); 3,8-diethyl-2,6,9,11-tetramethyl-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododeca-1,3,7,9-tetraene (DSLD); X = Cl-, NO - 3 , ½SO 2 - 4 ] have been synthesized. The complexes have been characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The complexes were found to stabilize tetragonal geometry except Cu(L)SO 4 which is of a five coordinate square pyramidal geometry.
