Abstract

The α-aryl carbonyl motif is commonly seen in pharmaceutical molecules and chiral building blocks, necessitating the use of asymmetric catalysts for their syntheses. The authors use a copper(II)-bisoxazoline catalyst system in conjunction with iodonium salts to achieve high yields and enantioselectivities for this transformation.
