Abstract

AbstractAs an essential trace element, Cu plays a vital role in cancer development, physiological metabolism, and other life processes. The rapid development of nanotechnology has greatly facilitated the development and application of Cu‐based nanomaterials (NMs). Originating from fascinating physicochemical properties and biological effects, Cu‐based NMs play an essential role in cancer diagnosis and therapy. In this paper, the preparation of Cu‐based NMs is discussed first. Then the key factors affecting the therapeutic effect of Cu‐based NMs on cancers are introduced. Next, the latest cancer therapy strategies for Cu‐based NMs are exemplified. Finally, the critical problems of Cu‐based NMs in cancer therapy and look forward to future applications are summarized.
