Abstract

ABSTRACT Fiber optic surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor based on copper and tungsten disulfide is presented experimentally. The method of wavelength interrogation is used to analyze the sensor. Outcomes of thicknesses of these materials on the sensitivity of the sensor have been shown in detail. The presence of tungsten disulfide layer of certain thickness in the copper-based sensor has been shown to improve the sensitivity. The SPR sensor with 40 nm thick copper-10 nm thick tungsten disulfide layers exhibits highest sensitivity.
