Abstract
This paper reports on the synthesis by means of radical polymerization of homopolymers and copolymers of alkyl methacrylates with various lengths of the alkyl radical styrene and vinyl acetate, and evaluates their effectiveness as pour-point depressants for diesel fuels. It is established that when using such pourpoint depressants the limiting filterability temperature of diesel fuel is lowered by 5-10/sup 0/C and the solid point by 4-10/sup 0/C.
