Abstract
An antenna that has a capability to operate in the dual-band of frequency (3.88GHz and 9.99GHz) in the ultra wide band range is presented. A coplanar wave guide (CPW) feeding line and defective ground structure at both the ground layers are the key features of this antenna. The function of the square slot in the radiator element to get dual band resonance in the UWB range. These resonant frequencies can be re-tuned by tuning the dimensions of the slot that make the different operating bands in the designed antenna. A novelty of the designed antenna is able to propagate two channels in the UWB range. The defective ground structure is introduced to improve performance of the antenna at these frequencies.
