Abstract

In 2008–2014, two new habitats of Cyclops bohater Kozminsky, 1933 were found in the European part of Russia, Lake Ferapontovskoe (Vologda oblast) and the Rybinsk Reservoir (Upper Volga River). The findings of this species were also confirmed for Lake Glubokoe (Moscow oblast). The morphological features and living conditions of C. bohater populations in different water bodies are described. C. bohater reproduces in the studied lakes in winter and summer (dicyclic) and, in the Rybinsk Reservoir, only in winter (monocyclic). The features that distinguish C. bohater from morphologically related species C. lacustris Sars, 1863 and C. abyssorum Sars, 1863 are discussed.
