Abstract
The coordination chemistry of Mo- and W-S compounds has been reviewed with emphasis on new results of our laboratory (including a systematic treatment of the compound types with different functional groups and the different reaction types). Molecular models for crystalline MoS 2 and the nitrosylated CoMoS phase as well as for the promoting effect of the Co atoms on hydrodesulfurization catalysis have been discussed.
