Abstract

As the wind power penetration continues to increase, the inherent volatility and weak frequency modulation capabilities of wind power have increasingly prominent influence on the power system. Thus, China has promulgated relevant standards for the power smoothing and frequency modulation capability of grid-connected wind power However technical ways achieving this standard have not yet mentioned in detail. This paper proposes a comprehensive control strategy based on the hybrid energy storage system that can simultaneously stabilize wind power fluctuations and participate in the primary frequency modulation. The control strategy includes two parts: the power fluctuation suppression control and the auxiliary frequency modulation control. Finally, through simulation analysis and comparison with other control strategies, the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed strategy in suppressing power fluctuations and auxiliary frequency modulation are verified.
