Abstract

This paper proposes a problem of co-optimization of the electricity and natural gas systems considering natural gas storage in order to minimize the operational cost of the electricity and natural gas networks. In addition, the AC optimal power flow (AC-OPF) has been performed to apply the voltage and reactive power constraints in the proposed model and also, the natural gas storage system is considered to improve the system operational efficiency. Mixed-integer non-linear programming (MINLP) has been used for modeling the proposed method in the GAMS software. The proposed model is tested on the modified 6-bus power system with 6-node gas network. The results indicate the effectiveness of the proposed model.
