Abstract

Based in historical and contextually elements involved in the emergence of cooperatives, this article describe the national cooperativist trajectory. In this way look for to evidence the different faces of cooperativism, the main characteristics of emergence and direction of these organizations. On the opposite way of studies based by objectivism, that show unilateral interpretation on the subject, this analyze, based in bibliography research of historical and contextually character, shows contradictions, diversity and complexity in the walk of brazilians cooperatives. We highlight the fact that cooperatives, that in their essence are people society, been adhering to the models and tools of the dominant perspective of bureaucratic organizations.
