Abstract

Many school districts are modifying gifted education programs and mandates to include and emphasize cooperative learning and peer tutoring approaches. While these cooperative designs hold promise for many students, the research is concentrated on cooperative learning designs with average and remedial students and has not adequately assessed their impact with the gifted population. Appropriate implementation of cooperative learning with gifted education students must be realized for all students to receive maximum benefit from these techniques.
