Abstract

In this paper, the cooperative control method that takes the advantage of lateral coupling characteristics is proposed for the hypersonic vehicle. The aim is improving lateral attitude control performance with fewer control moment, and thus reducing energy consumption. The lateral coupling characteristics are between the yaw channel and roll channel. To verify the validity of cooperative control method that utilizes coupling characteristics, two kinds of controllers are designed for the hypersonic vehicle lateral control. The first one is a single-channel controller (after decoupling), while the other is a cooperative controller applied to multiple channels. The result demonstrates that the cooperative controller has less demand on single-axis control moment, which means that it requires fewer actuator deflection to follow the same attitude angle tracking instructions, when compared with the single-channel controller.
