Abstract

This paper investigates nonlinear control of cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC) system with sensor failures. A nonlinear vehicular model involving sensor failure is established. Based on the nonlinear model, a switching controller design method is proposed. It is shown that the obtained control scheme can achieve the objective of individual vehicle stability and string stability. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by a numerical simulation.
