Abstract

The paper deals with problems concerning cooperation between a cage induction motor with a voltage source inverter which is equipped in a soft switching system. It was assumed that the induction motor operates with a certain vector control method. The proposed soft switching system which is resistant to control disturbances is described briefly. Waveforms of chosen voltages and currents and harmonic spectra determined for the case when the induction motor is supplied by inverter operating with the soft switching system are compared with the analogous waveforms for the case when the transistors of the voltage source inverter are not softly switched. The final chapter of the paper presents principles which refer to the control method of the transistor of the voltage source inverter supplying the vector controlled induction motor.
