Abstract

The electric cable tunnel fire seriously affects the safety of the power system. In order to determine the fire extinguishing effect of high pressure water mist on electric cable tunnels, an entity fire test platform for electric cables was built, and experiments and simulation studies on the fire-extinguishing effect of water mist fire-extinguishing system under different working conditions were carried out. Fire numerical simulation software was used to carry out fire extinguishing simulation under the condition of water mist with different particle sizes in the cable fire experimental platform, the variation of the temperature at the top of the tunnel just above the fire source under the condition of different droplet diameters was analyzed and the fire extinguishing efficiency results of different water mist particle sizes in the cable tunnel under the same fire source power were compared. The results show that among the three selected water mists with particle sizes, the <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$k$</tex> water mist has a rapid cooling effect, and the smaller the particle size of the water mist, the better the fire extinguishing effect.
