Abstract

We present detailed numerical calculations of the cooling and destruction of collisionally heated interstellar dust grains that are swept up by adiabatic supernova blast waves. We calculate the infrared luminosity that is emitted from the interior of the supernova cavity and study the effect of the energy loss on the evolution of the remnant. We briefly discuss recent infrared observations of several young supernova remnants.
