Abstract

The feeding of raw soybean meal generally reduces significantly the growth rate and feed efficiency of poults (Saxena et al., 1961); Linerode et al., 1961). However, the growth depression caused by raw soybeans could be partially corrected by the addition of methionine to the diet or by properly heating of the soybean as reported by Linerode et al. (1961) and White et al. (1966), respectively, in studies with turkey poults and broilers. The present study was to assess the availability of infra-red cooked full-fat soybeans for turkey poults.EXPERIMENTALTwenty day-old Broad Breasted Bronze turkey poults of mixed sexes were randomly assigned to each experimental group.
