Abstract

Abstract Convict criminology (CC) is a growing criminological discipline that focuses on an insider and convict perspective of criminal justice and criminology. Members are comprised of ex‐convicts and prisoners in possession of a doctorate, or in the process of attaining one, and enlightened non‐convict scholars and advocates invested in the CC mission. CC's mission is multifaceted, serving to bring an academic voice to both the imprisoned and the formerly incarcerated through production of expert‐driven peer‐reviewed research, providing educational mentorship to convicts and ex‐convicts, and advocating for criminal justice reform.
