Abstract

Conversion functions HSI(10)/_ (HSI(10) meaning Hp(10) in the ICRU tissue slab phantom) were calculated using a computer code developed earlier. A set of conversion functions of HSI(10) at 10 mm depth below the middle of the slab front face is presented. The direction of the neutron beams relative to the inward normal on the irradiated slab side are a = 0, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 75 o and the incident neutron energies range from thermal to 20 MeV. Rotational and isotropic irradiation are also discussed. The values of HSI(10) are finally set in relation to H'(10), the directional dose equivalent, computed with the same programme. The variation of HSI(10) over the irradiated surface of the slab is also described in order to take into account the possible positions where personal dosemeters can be affixed on the calibration phantom.
