Abstract

The present work aims to report the clinical case of a 30-year-old woman attended in the emergency room in April 2020 with a pathologic fracture of the mandible caused by extensive osteolytic injury. The patient reported an evolution of years, a history of incisional biopsy with the conclusion of solid ameloblastoma, and that less invasive treatments such as decompression and marsupialization were tried without success. On tomographic examination, the patient presented a fracture of the mandible in the branch and an expansive tumoral lesion in the branch and right body. The patient underwent emergency surgery with partial resection of the extensive mandible and temporary reconstruction of the mandibular perimeter with a 2.4-mm system reconstruction plate. The patient evolved with good healing in outpatient follow-up.
