Abstract
Several types of “microbes” attack cultivated plants, including: fungi, bacteria, flagellate protozoa, mycoplasmas, viruses and viroids. The resulting problems vary according to such factors as: type of microbe, its multiplication site (local or systemic), type of plant (monocotyledon or dicotyledon), and the climatic and ecological conditions (e.g. temperate climate with marked seasons or humid tropical climate with no winter).
