Abstract

Convection heat transfers on the circumferential smooth and horizontal groove(the orientation of concave groove is parallel with the machine shaft) surface of rotating disk were experimentally investigated by using heat and mass transfer analogy principle and Naphthalene sublimation technology in the paper. With the disk rotating and the coupling influence of the disk rotating speed and air velocity, the local heat transfer coefficient of the circumferential smooth surface and horizontal groove surface were measured. The characteristics of the convection heat transfer were compared in the two different surface textures. The correlation of the local Nusselt numberswith the local Reynolds number of different surfaces is proposed in the present work. Criterion parameters formulas of the smooth and horizontal surface are also obtained through non-dimension experimental data.
