Abstract

AbstractIn this paper, a new control-oriented input design approach is presented. The model uncertainty set resulted from system identification is tuned for the robust control design procedure. Given closed-loop performances and controller structure are taken into account for the uncertainty set shaping. Finite dimensional parameterization of the input spectrum is used to recast the input design procedure as a convex optimization problem. A recently developed method for controller design for systems with ellipsoidal parametric uncertainty is used as a basis for the new input design procedure. This way, a unique convex optimization problem is presented for the joint robust control/input design problem.
