Abstract

According to the Stoner criterion, the density of states at the Fermi level is the crucial factor for the magnetic proximity effect (MPE), implying that the MPE can be controlled by applying a gate voltage. In this report, we examined the anomalous Hall effect (AHE) in a Pt layer with a small magnetic moment induced by the MPE, and the effect of the gate voltage. We observed a large AHE in CoFe2O4/Pt that could be attributed to magnetism in Pt induced by the MPE. The AHE magnitude was remarkably changed by −50% to +100% by ion gating.
