Abstract

Ventilation, as a prevention approach, is required more frequently due to the change of epidemic. The pattern of human activities moved from outdoor to indoor and increased the negative influences on indoor air quality. However, excessive ventilation will cause energy waste, especially since the facilities operate continuously without consulting indoor air quality information. In order to improve the mechanism of operation decision, we propose a spatial analytic method. It is to combine the Internet of Things (IoT) and object detection to dominate the switch of ventilation facilities. And, the results indicate the proposed method effectively reduces the service time of the facilities by about 70% and maintain the indoor CO2 concentration below 1000 ppm. Also, it can accurately determine the frequency or duration of activation concerning the current number of people indoors and allude to the strong connection between the two at the same time.
